Archipel is the free access electronic publications archive of UQAM and is made up of documents resulting from the University's research work. Documents submitted by professors and lecturers can be found in Archipelago. The library service also deposits the official version of UQAM's theses and dissertations, accepted since 2006, as well as doctoral essays in psychology accepted since January 2014.

Filing in an archive such as Archipel increases the visibility of research documents and makes them more quickly accessible to a greater number of researchers and is a concrete contribution to the global movement in favor of free access to scientific knowledge.

6.3.1 Support for the dissemination of knowledge (translation from french).

UQAM sign the Berlin Declaration on Open Access and the Jussieu Appeal for Open Science and "Bibliodiversity/librariandiversity". It strongly encourages actors, researchers and creators to disseminate their work in open access, in particular through the institutional repository (Archipel). In this sense, it offers support services, the maintenance of an institutional repository and the archiving of scientific publications of the University. The University is committed to ensuring the sustainability of access to documents included in its institutional repository and thus, to promote the influence of the results of research and the creation of the Institution. The University encourages its professors to publish texts designed within the framework of their university task. The University also encourages the dissemination of original research and creation results to the general public. For media relations, the Communications Department can support actresses, actors in research and creation.

6.3.1 Appui à la diffusion des connaissances

L’Université est signataire de la Déclaration de Berlin sur le libre accès et de l’Appel de Jussieu pour la science ouverte et la bibliodiversité. Elle encourage fortement les actrices, acteurs de la recherche et de la création à diffuser leurs travaux en libre accès, notamment par l’entremise du dépôt institutionnel (Archipel). En ce sens, elle offre des services d’accompagnement, le maintien d’un dépôt institutionnel et l’archivage des publications scientifiques de l’Université. L’Université s’engage à assurer la pérennité de l’accès aux documents inclus dans son dépôt institutionnel et ainsi, à favoriser le rayonnement des résultats de la recherche et de la création de l’Institution. L'Université encourage ses professeures, professeurs à publier des textes conçus dans le cadre de leur tâche universitaire. L’Université encourage aussi la diffusion des résultats originaux de recherche et de création auprès du grand public. Pour les relations avec les médias, le Service des communications peut appuyer les actrices, acteurs de la recherche et de la création.

Eligibility conditions

In order to be eligible for funding:

- The request for support must correspond to a publication that was issued between May 1, 2020 and April 30, 2021 (each year the researchers have access to this program);
- The support applicant must be a regular professor of the Faculty of Science;
- The support applicant must be one of the authors of the publication;
- The affiliation of the requestor of support to UQAM must be indicated on the publication concerned by the request;
- The publication concerned by the request must have been accepted in an open access journal with peer review (for a directory, see doaj.org);
- An appropriate version of this publication must also have been deposited in the archipelago free-access institutional archive (archipel.uqam.ca)

Eligibility criteria
- Free access to articles published in the journal in question;
- The quality of the journal considered (journal with an editorial board and peer review, impact factor);
- The affiliation of the main authors of the article to the Faculty of Science;
- Obtaining this support during the year 2020-2021 (each year the researchers have access to this program): priority will be given to applicants who have not received support during the current fiscal year.
