THE FOOD AID PROGRAM BY THE FONDATION FORCE

Each year, an amount of $70,000 is distributed to students as part of the Fondation FORCE’s food aid program. This amount is given as prepaid cards for the purchase of food at various grocery stores in the region. On average, 500 students benefit from this program annually.

The Fondation FORCE is a non-profit organization founded and administered by Université de Sherbrooke’s students that raise funds to help university students who are experiencing financial difficulties. It offers four programs, including food assistance.

FRIGO FREE GO

The Free Go refrigerators are “self-service” solidarity refrigerators in which surplus food from local partners and volunteer donors are deposited. This food is then made available free of charge to the entire student community, thus alleviating food insecurity while contributing in a beautiful way to the reduction of food waste. Solidarity refrigerators are found at the Main Campus, the Health Campus, and the Longueuil Campus.
