What is the institution’s current bicycle friendly award level? :
Silver

A brief description of the institution’s bicycle program, including the year the award was achieved and/or renewed:

The University holds the “Vélosympathique” certification from Vélo Québec since 2016 (Silver award level for the main campus and Bronze level for both the Health and Longueuil campuses). The certification highlights the University's initiatives that promote a cycling culture, sustainable mobility and the well-being of the university community.

Indeed, as part of its sustainable mobility strategy, the Université de Sherbrooke has implemented several actions to promote cycling to support active transportation. For example, a fleet of self-serve bikes, showers and secure bike parkings are available to the university community on all three campuses. In addition, it is possible to find a secure multi-level indoor bicycle station (Vélostation) at the Longueuil Campus. This indoor bicycle station is accessible by using an access card and provides 80 bike spaces.

A bike cooperative called "La Déraille" is also present on the main campus. It aims to encourage the use of bicycles and to raise awareness among the university community about issues related to sustainable mobility. La Déraille organizes bicycle repair shops on all three campuses and has recently installed a self-service bike repair terminal on the main campus.

Finally, a new bike path has just been created on the main campus. It now connects the Mont-Bellevue Park trail with the city's various trails and facilitates cycling on campus.
