Is the institution a member of the Fair Labor Association? :
Yes

A brief description of the institution’s WRC or FLA membership, including the year membership was last established or renewed:

In 2009, the Université de Sherbrooke adopted a sustainable purchasing policy, which was revised in 2013. It includes, among others, a " suppliers code of conduct for a socially responsible approach" and sets the University’s expectations from suppliers to that regard. More specifically, the respect for fundamental labour rights, as defined by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), is required as a compliance criterion when drafting the institution's calls for tenders.

In this context, being associated with the FLA provides for a sustainable framework with regard to the University’s actions and recommendations towards suppliers, since resources and several tools are made available in order for the institution to meet its commitments.

The University established its membership for the year 2019-2020 (July 1st, 2019 to June 30th, 2020).
