O monitoramento da geração de resíduos sólidos teve inicio no ano de 2020 a partir da publicação do Plano de Gestão Integrada de resíduos sólidos da UEPA na Capital (PGIRS-UEPA/Capital). A estimativa de resíduos recicláveis destinados às cooperativas de catadores de matérias recicláveis no ano de 2021 foi de aproximadamente 7 toneladas. Para chegar a esta conclusão, realiza-se a pesagem (kg) de todos os resíduos coletados e acondicionados nos campi da UEPA em Belém do Pará no ano de desempenho.

Com o trabalho de reciclagem os servidores da instituição foram tomando responsabilidade e consciência da importância desse trabalho. E a coleta de resíduos e separação de materiais vem se tornando uma prática bem aceita e positiva.

Com gerenciamento de materiais e áreas de melhoria, a Universidade vem cada vez mais mudando e conscientizando a forma de pensar em relação ao destino final dos resíduos. Esse processo contínuo vem passando por mudanças consideráveis ​​ao ano de 2020,2021 e 2022.

Atualmente existe uma política de compras bastante consciente por parte da instituição. Materiais como copos pláticos já não são utilizados com frequência pelos servidores, cada servidor tem a consciência de utilizar seu copo reutilizável.

A isntituição (UEPA) já trabalha com consumo bem menor de papel e tinta.
O sistema eletrônico adotado como meio de tramitação de documentos diminuio bastante o gasto de papel e tinta.
A utilização de papel reutilizável cresceu bastante.
