Does the institution conduct an assessment of sustainability culture (i.e. the assessment focuses on sustainability values, behaviors and beliefs, and may also address awareness of campus sustainability initiatives)?:
Yes
Which of the following best describes the cultural assessment? The assessment is administered to::
A subset of the campus community or a sample that may not be representative of the entire community
Which of the following best describes the structure of the cultural assessment? The assessment is administered::
Without a follow-up assessment of the same cohort or representative samples of the same population
A brief description of how and when the cultural assessment(s) were developed and/or adopted:
The assessment was made within the framewor of the program "Programa Fixe" in 2016, where the trainees were asked to complete a questionnaire that had as objective the evaluation by the employees about the environmental performance of the public organization where they work (Open University), also including a self-assessment of some of their individual behaviors.

A brief description of how representative samples were reached (if applicable) and how the cultural assessment is administered:
This questionnaire was answered by 7 trainees. The questionnaire was made available by google docs forms. Since the participation in this assessment was made within the program "Programa Fixe" and the participation was voluntary, the sample wasn't big or diverse enough to be representative.
A brief summary of results from the cultural assessment, including a description of any measurable changes over time:
The questionnaire showed some trends summarized below:
- The employees consider that the voluntary evaluation of the environmental performance by the employees will have an impact on the management and decision of the UAb;
- There is also a good way forward for the organization to improve its environmental performance, in particular in terms of energy efficiency, reduction of waste production and recycling and noise;
- There is awareness of environmental issues and pro-environmental behavior in the employees who responded to the questionnaire, but there is also room for improvement, particularly in the area of waste reduction and recycling;
- There is a high variability of the answers, but it can be due to the fact that the respondents work in different buildings and localities.
