Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

According to the UTEC 2021–2025 Strategic Plan, UTEC's educational, research, and innovation offerings are organized into five academic departments: 1) Environmental Sustainability, 2) Information Technologies, 3) Logistics, Biomedical, and Mechatronics, 4) Food, and 5) Innovation and Entrepreneurship. For more information, see the strategic plan at: https://utec.edu.uy/uploads/documento/7c1a87937c7c1028ecb3a4546a8dfb3efec9097b.pdf

UTEC does not explicitly structure its academic offerings into 'academic divisions' as described. However, for the purposes of classification, we have entered the value '4' for academic divisions. This is because UTEC's general offering is organized into four Regional Technological Institutes (Institutos Tecnológicos Regionales, or ITRs). The country is divided into four regions, each with a central ITR in a host city where the main campus is located, along with satellite campuses in other cities.

Each ITR can host educational offerings from various academic departments (such as Environmental Sustainability, Information Technologies, etc.), and within each academic department, there are multiple programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels.

Additionally, the university has two transversal centers: the Center for Digital Transformation and the Center for Global Engagement. These centers house certain continuing education programs linked to projects with specific timelines that have not yet been assigned to an academic department. For this reason, we do not input the value '7', as these centers operate outside the standard academic department structure and are project-based rather than permanently institutionalized as divisions or departments.
