The committee related to sustainability at UTEC is known as the "Sustainability Steering Group." This group aims to facilitate collaboration and coordination within the university and is responsible for monitoring and developing strategies to promote a more sustainable organization. The main responsibilities of the Steering Group include:

  • Proposing institutional sustainability goals and objectives.
  • Promoting the implementation of cross-organizational action plans.
  • Preparing the annual institutional sustainability report.

Additionally, each Directorate within UTEC must appoint a person as a focal point for the Sustainability Steering Group, ensuring that the operations under their supervision comply with the sustainability principles established in the policy​

It is composed of representatives from the Provisional Central Governing Council, each of the transversal Departments and Centers, the ITR Directorates, the Environmental Sustainability Department, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Department, and the Communications Unit.

Additionally, each Directorate within UTEC must appoint a person as a focal point for the Sustainability Steering Group, ensuring that the operations under their supervision comply with the sustainability principles established in the policy​
