UTEC participates by law in the Basin Commission (Comisión de Cuenca) of the Río Negro and Río Yi, which focuses on water resource management and sustainability efforts in the region. This participation is mandated by national regulations, ensuring that UTEC contributes to the development of sustainable water policies and the management of local ecosystems. This involvement allows UTEC to advocate for and support public policies related to sustainability at both the regional and local levels, with a formal role in decision-making processes that impact environmental governance and resource management.
