At the national level, USFQ is part of REDU (Rede Ecuatoriana De Universidades para Investigación y Posgrados). In English, this organization translates to The Ecuadorian Network of Universities for Research and Postgraduate Studies (REDU) is made up of 20 higher education institutions. The goal of the REDU is to link the academic, social, political and productive sectors, through research and training projects at the graduate level, with ethical principles and criteria, respect for the environment, with social justice and recognition of intellectual property.

Professors Carlos Mena, Juan Manuel Guayasamin and Vice Dean Andrea Encalada (Co-Chair) are members of the Science Panel for the Amazon. This international platform brings together researchers, scientists, and global partners to discuss and mobilize actions to contribute to the preservation of the Amazon ecosystems.
The findings of the panel were presented on 2021 at the UN Climate Conference in Glasgow.

Yes

A brief description of the mentoring relationship and activities:
USFQ has a project with the student organization Red Move. The project consists of the construction of a methodology to quantify the carbon footprint of 9 schools in Quito and establish a reduction plan. The objective is to obtain a validated methodology to ensure its replicability and make it public so that it can be shared with other schools. Students from the Environmental Engineering career and the EcoReps club of USFQ work with students from the MOVE Network - Student Green Movement, in a project that promotes learning in action.

A brief description of other inter-campus collaborative efforts around sustainability during the previous year :
We have been working with the HUC University Consortium to develop a sustainable campus initiative with the members, specifically with the University of Miami and Tec de Monterrey. The program has been in design during 2021 and we expect to launch in 2022 with the aim of fostering inter-campus sustainability collaborations.
