A brief description of the undergraduate degree program:

Environmental Management is a 5-year online program that the University offers with the objective of combining economic development with the social and environmental aspects and how these relations affect the overall system. This area of study is under the School of Environmental and Biological Science and focuses on individuals who are interested in planning, implementing and evaluating natural resources and the tradeoffs.

A brief description of the undergraduate degree program (2nd program):

Environmental Engineering is a degree that looks into forming professionals who can provide technical solutions to contamination and environmental degradation problems in order to preserve our biodiversity and contribute to sustainable development. This is a multidisciplinary career that provides strong footing in several areas of knowledge such as biology, exact sciences and engineering. Our professionals are committed to preserve the environment and human health by adequately using natural resources, implementing environmental management systems, designing functional and environmentally compatible treatment facilities, managing urban and hazardous solid waste, modeling of environmental contaminants, controlling air quality, among others.

Liberal Arts

A brief description of the undergraduate degree program (3rd program):

The Liberal Arts program provides a comprehensive and multidisciplinary education. Students acquire knowledge in the different areas of the Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as in science, mathematics and languages. Students can choose their concentration within the Liberal Arts from Sociology, Anthropology, Literature, History, Art History, Philosophy, among others.

Graduates are prepared to conduct academic research as they learn about the different research methods and their importance in each situation or field of study, which provides the ability to design and evaluate projects. They possess a high capacity for analysis, as well as excellent communication skills that they develop through all the courses of the career.

Environmental Law, Sustainability and Natural Resources

A brief description of the undergraduate minor or concentration (2nd program):

The sub-specialization in Environmental Law, Sustainability and Natural Resources is intended for law students and those related to environmental issues, providing a broad vision of the regulatory and institutional framework, in the administrative, criminal, civil and constitutional fields, to guarantee the right to a healthy and ecologically balanced environment. Within the framework of sustainable development, the approach that is being given to the environment at a global level is analyzed, with emphasis on the management of natural resources, energy and risks. The context and international legal framework will be examined, identifying the different legal obligations assumed by Ecuador.

Environmental Management

A brief description of the undergraduate minor or concentration (3rd program):

This minor offers students the opportunity to acquire multidisciplinary knowledge related to the biological sciences. Students will receive courses with a theoretical-practical perspective and will have classes with emphasis on both field and laboratory activities.

Students from any major at USFQ (except Biology who must opt for concentrations within their major) may opt for this minor. Students wishing to pursue this minor must pass the courses listed below, register for the Biological Sciences Colloquia course and attend at least 10 colloquia.
