A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
1. The database of USFQ classes for the academic year 2019-2020 was used as a starting point.
2. A keyword search is performed to select classes related to sustainability. The keywords are based on the study by Brugmann, Rashad et al. (2019) based on concepts related to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and keywords for taken from STARS language and review of practices in sustainability reports from other universities that report to STARS.
Definition of sustainability used for this inventory: that which focuses on and is concerned with the healthy maintenance and development of society environmentally, economically, and socially. (Stanford University)
3. From the classes resulting from the filter of step 2, a sweep is made to identify them as 1) sustainability focused or 2) sustainability inclusive based on the following definition:
1) Sustainability Focused: which focuses on and is concerned with the healthy maintenance and development of society from an environmental, economic and social point of view. (Stanford University)
2) Sustainability Inclusive: the class deals with at least 2 of the 3 axes of sustainability (environmental, economic and social) or covers at least one sustainability unit, activity or topic or relates directly to sustainability practices. (Stanford University) (University of California Berkley)
