The Protocol for the Prevention and Attention of Cases of Gender Violence constitutes the normative framework to be applied within the UDEM in this matter, for which the different national and international legal systems were taken into consideration, as well as publications and academic research in the topic.

A brief description of the institution’s programs designed specifically to support students, academic staff, and/or non-academic staff from underrepresented groups:

UDEM has various support programs for minority groups. Some of them are:
1) PYSIE, academic program for disabled people who want to continue their studies after completing their basic training.
2) Students from other states of Mexico.
3) Students with conditioned financial aid, and students with low academic achievement.

For the latter group there are four specific programs of support and monitoring: a) Educational Tutoring Program aimed at developing emotional, social, cognitive and creative capacities, to help raise school performance and prevent withdrawal of students on risk. b) Growing group tutoring, focused on training the student in study skills and organization skills to enable it to achieve significant learning and explore his/her intellectual, emotional and social resources towards a full and comprehensive development . c) Learning Strategy Workshops, which aims to develop in students skills of the learning process, as practical strategies that will facilitate the production of knowledge and the application of the same in each of the areas that their academic university demands, and share tips and advice on best learning practices. d) Psychological Assessment , where study and organizational strategies of the student are evaluate, as well as the application of psychological tests to identify the student's intellectual capacity focusing in low areas in order to design a specific and individual educational work plan allowing specific which allows the student to rehearse the mentioned areas and provide monitoring throughout the semester.
