A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):

UDEM offers health services to the entire community, as well as many free sports options. The sports facilities are accessible to employees. There are three programs to promote health among employees:

1) Nutritional counseling: the purpose of this program is to provide free advice, tools and nutritional knowledge to students and staff from the University of Monterrey in order to maintain a state of optimal health, reduce risk factors for chronic degenerative diseases while achieving to maintain, lose or gain weight according to each specific case. Additionally with Integral Health Week, where lectures, medical evaluation, health booths, nutritional counseling, lectures on addiction prevention, laboratory tests, drills, master classes, zumba fitness, pilates and yoga are offered.

2)Prevention Program aims to provide UDEM´s students and staff with information about psychosocial risks that young people face today, such as: the use and abuse of substances, legal and illegal, emotional problems and eating disorders.

3) Body Image Program. It is an intervention focused on the acceptance of the Body, based on cognitive dissonance; It was designed to help adolescents and young women to resist socio-cultural pressures to conform to the ideal standard of thinness of female beauty and reduce the search for sick thinness.
