The Scientific University of the South implemented its repository
institutional with the objective of disseminating basic digital information and content to the public
generated by their community and derived from research, teaching and related activities.
By digitizing the contents (theses, research papers, teaching materials,
etc.) and hosting in the institutional repository, our research can be made visible,
adopting open access policies.
The institutional repository will allow the collection, conservation, preservation and dissemination of the production
intellectual of members of the University. This repository is implemented on the
Dspace platform (software
open source) that meets the technical requirements of
SUNEDU and CONCYTEC, which guarantees access and interoperability of the information that at its
time will allow the increase in the visibility of scientific production and its dissemination in the
collectors and specialized searchers.

The institutional repository is open access so that intellectual production
of members of the University has greater visibility among the scientific community
National and international.
It is mandatory that every document leading to an academic degree or professional title be
included in the institutional academic repository. The type of access of said entry is
will be based on the publication authorization form signed by the graduate (open access,
restricted, embargoed or closed)
In the event that the document leading to an academic degree or professional title has
more than one author, it is necessary that all of them send to the General Directorate of Research,
Development and Innovation (DGIDI) the publication authorization duly signed for
to proceed to enter the repository. The same applies to documents whose
authorship is by members of the University but who are not linked to obtaining
degrees.
In all cases, the author accepts that the University has permission to convert the
document in any medium or format to be stored in the institutional repository
without making changes to the content.

The university has a guideline for the payment of publication rights in indicated journals.
This document applies to the entire university community of the Universidad Cientifica del Sur, which includes students, graduates, teachers, researchers, practice heads and administrative staff who carry out research and require support from the University.
The Scientific University of the South (UCSUR) may provide any member of the
university community (student, teacher, administrator or researcher), support for
the payment of APC for scientific articles in indicated scientific journals, upon request of the interested and according to budget availability.
Undergraduate or postgraduate graduates can access this benefit up to 3 years after graduation or indefinitely as long as they remain linked to a research group recognized by the university

A brief description of the open access journal hosting services:
The university has electronic publications and magazines, where researchers have the possibility of disseminating the information generated. In addition, these journals have platinum open access peer-reviewed articles (free of charge for authors, free of charge for readers). The journal is edited by the research groups of the Universidad Cientifica del Sur (Lima, Peru). The articles are published continuously (rolling base), within an annual volume.
Open for the publication of original articles and review by researchers, professionals and students. The journals publish original articles, short articles, scientific letters, letters to the editor, clinical cases, comments, profiles, reviews, methodological notes, editorials and special articles.
