Student groups

1. Leaders school: student organization as a training and reflection space in which they can develop capacities, leadership, and social skills as well as they can create networks and be co-responsible of their development along with the society. Some links:
2. Fondo de Solidaridad CES (FSC): student organization along with the university that seeks funds for students. They create, promote and manage activities in order to find resources to support students with economic difficulties. Also with the university, this organization (FSC) develops social programs aimed to promote sustainable development in communities with social inequality.
3. Interculturality: student organizations that share about different cultures. This creates a better understanding of our world and being a global citizen.
4. Volunteers: a group of students that by volunteering contributed to sustainable development with different actions that generate environmental and social impact in communities, through the solution of their specific needs aligned with the university social program.
5. Ser papas en la U: This became an organization/space for students who are parents in order to generate a psychosocial support network. They address concerns and share experiences in order to promote support, learning, and development in this role.
6. ParCES: student organization supported by the university that aims to accompany students from other countries and cities in their adaptation process through academic monitoring, support groups, and cultural integration among others.
7. “Aprendo en Red” Program: Group of mentors: Strengthen and develop fundamental skills in the different fields of knowledge in the mentor students, through a training process that allows, in turn, to provide guidance to peer students who are in a process of adaptation to university life, and who present academic difficulties, positively impacting the permanence and graduation at CES University.

Gardens and farms

Nutrition in the countryside, training in sustainable nutrition for families in Ciudad Bolívar, Antioquia
Both the Nutrition and Food Sciences Faculty and the Veterinary and Zootechnics Faculty develop programs and projects aimed at enabling students to gain experience in organic agriculture and sustainable food systems.
For example, the nutrition program in the field where training activities are developed with students on topics related to the hygienic handling of food, healthy eating at home, sustainable management of orchards and their use in the family kitchen. With coverage for 51 rural families, residents in the villages of La Arboleda, Altos de los Jaramillos, and Farallones.
Through a situation analysis of the social, nutritional and culinary contexts, 6 100% virtual courses were carried out, as well as support and follow-up visits to each of the participating families.
Formation of healthy culinary cultures: From the field to the table.
I work with farmers on agriculture 2.0 issues, sustainable livestock, sustainable production.
The program "La U en el campo" which is a commitment to bring higher education to rural municipalities and form the rural community.
Peasant green markets once a month at the university campuses to supported agriculture and urban agriculture projects.

We have a wide cultural offer for the university community and society in general.

We create “Escuela Cultural CES” (CES cultural school) that connects with the diversity of artistic and cultural expressions in order to enrich and offer alternatives and create a special place to enjoy cultural expressions.
CES University invites you to live a wide cultural agenda for all different groups that can find a source of inspiration and different spaces for the enjoyment and integral growth as a human being. In 2021, there were 13 continuing education activities per area with 1,545 beneficiaries

Since 2019 at CES University, the use of straws, plates, cutlery, PET bottles or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) elements has been restricted and is not evidenced; polystyrene (poron). This was initially in the university campus, El Poblado campus until extended to its Envigado and Sabaneta campus. These elements were replaced by biodegradable containers based on starch or corn starch or cane bagasse.

As part of the commitment acquired by the University, the Sustainable Business Mobility Plan was implemented, in which different strategies converge whose focal point is the reduction of CO2 emissions from internal combustion vehicles, in addition to improving mobility conditions in the areas of influence of the University.

We articulate activities with other support areas under the "Professionals with the CES seal" route, which aims to enhance the personal skills involved in the success of students in their transition to working life and in their management process, job search, and employment engagement, through comprehensive support, so that they can enhance their personal and institutional brand at the time of starting their professional life.

Sustainability for the university is not intended to be a speech, but an approach that drives our development model where we commit ourselves to people, the planet, and prosperity, in such a way that we guarantee the balance between economic growth, the regeneration of the environment and social welfare.
