A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:

Data regarding employee commuting comes from a survey of all employees conducted in Fall 2018 - even though this is after the performance year, it is the most recent survey of its kind in almost a decade, so we feel it more accurately represents 2017-2018 commuter modal split than the anecdotal data we had been using.
