The campus strategic plan calls for net zero carbon by 2025 and the high performance building policy requires planning teams to establish energy criteria and requires design teams to propose strategies to meet the criteria and deadline.

The chief sustainability officer is a member of Senior Staff and the budget committee to ensure sustainability implications are considered in any major building or renovation project. The chief officer is also a LEED AP.
