Bring Your Own Towel Program
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
Instead of replacing our paper towel dispensers with hot air dryers, we have decided to pilot a "Bring Your Own Towel" program managed by one of our student sustainability ambassadors. Personal hand towels and hooks to hang them on were passed out to freshmen in one of our two identical freshmen residence halls with the other serving as the control. The student ambassador is working with a group from a class who is measuring waste in residence halls to see if there is a noticeable impact on the amount of paper towels generated by each dorm.
