Every semester, Unity College organizes an academic conference to highlight student research and creative work. Conference participants routinely present sustainability focused work and the conference is regularly highlighted in regional media. Conference Awards -- including the Sustainability Award -- are announced internally to the entire campus, and documented on the website indicated.

Sustainable Food Systems Information

There is a large map on the wall in the main seating area of the college's cafeteria that shows where we purchase local foods from with information about the farms. New signs were rolled out in Spring 2017 in our dining facilities with labels that indicate local, organic, vegetarian, and vegan fare. Signs also indicate if the product was grown on campus as well. Signs are also located above our waste stations indicating what happens to the organics we collect.

Campus gardens are identified with signs. Wildflower and other landscaped areas managed under our mowing reduction program are also identified with posted signs. Land utilized for the community hunger relief program "Veggies for All" are also indicated with signs and explain the program.

Green Living Guide

Revised in 2016, the Green Guide is provided to RAs and highlighted in residence hall meetings. It is also presented to incoming freshmen at New Student Orientation. The guide emphasizes energy, waste, water, and transportation resources on campus with additional focus on access to natural areas, community engagement, and sustainability programs.

in 2016, sustainability ambassadors from the office of sustainability created a guide to local CSAs for our community members. While mainly targeted towards faculty and staff who are here over the summer, it provides a listing of nearby CSAs and farm shares that are within 45 minutes of campus, including what the farms have to offer and share sizes.
