A brief description of the event(s):
The Lapping Lecture Series is offered to all campus and community members each spring semester. Lectures are offered to all students in the Core course "Environmental Challenge" and advertised regionally to encourage public involvement. Unity students twice annually present their research and explore sustainability themes at the Unity College Student Conference: http://www.unity.edu/Academic/DistinctivePrograms/StudentConference/StudentConference.aspx In 2010, Unity hosted the Sustainability Training Institute, inviting students from all over Maine to on-campus training in weatherization, community emissions accounting, and renewable energy technologies. Unity's annual Lapping Lecture series explores sustainability themes with all upper level students through the Environmental Challenge course. Each semester, the Unity College Student Conference showcases student research and creative work and includes presentation and award categories emphasizing sustainability. Unity College occasionally develops and hosts student-focused sustainability conferences with our own and other Maine students including the Sustainability Training Institute and the Maine Climate Summit held on campus in 2010.
