Student Well-being:
UMass Chan supports students in caring for their mental health by making Student Counseling Center and various well-being initiatives available. There is also a fitness center, recreational activities, and a Student Health Center.

Faculty/Staff:
The UMass Chan Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a workplace-based program providing consultation, assessment, intervention, information and referral for employees and their household members. The EAP offers personal assistance to address a variety of issues, including individual, family and work-related concerns. The EAP is free and confidential to the full extent of the law. Employees and household members can obtain assessment, short-term problem-focused intervention, and referral and information for treatment or other assistance.We are conveniently located in Worcester, MA and serve all of Central Massachusetts.

The EAP also provides consultation and training to managers and Human Resource staff regarding the impact and resolution of mental health and productivity problems. EAP consultation assists managers and Human Resources in minimizing the impact of stress on the workplace.

UMass Chan Medical School promotes a smoke and tobacco free environment across our campuses in order to model and encourage healthy behaviors which are consistent with the UMass Chan mission and purpose; an institution dedicated to the education and training of health care professionals.

Accordingly, everyone is prohibited from smoking or using tobacco products in any UMass Chan vehicle, building, facility, site, garage, grounds, or adjacent grounds that are owned, leased, controlled or operated by UMass Chan. Scope: The use, dispensing or sale of any tobacco product is prohibited within any vehicle, building, facility, site, grounds, and garage owned, leased or controlled by UMass Chan.

Responsibilities: Student shall comply with this policy and report any violations of this policy to the
Associate Dean for Student Affairs.

Students desiring to stop smoking shall be responsible for reviewing tobacco cessation benefits available
through their health insurance provider.
