A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
For the total course inventory, the online descriptions of each class were reviewed and assessed. The descriptions were evaluated against the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Earth Charter Principles to determine courses containing sustainability content with either the goals or principles as indicators. This method assumes that courses include specific content that supports learning of skills and information that combats sustainability challenges. The method for determining if a course is sustainability inclusive is if the course contributes to achieving a target within the UN Sustainability Development Goals.
Academic departments were not included in the inventory because they do not correlate with "programs" or "majors" like at an undergraduate institution. Instead, the school offering each course is listed. This is consistent with our 2020 academic courses inventory.
