UMMS has a comprehensive program to address stormwater runoff. In most of the parking lots and parking garages, there are stormwater ceptors installed and maintained. In addiion, UMMS has removed all underground storage tanks to replace them with above ground tanks.

Stormwater ceptors are used in the parking garages to collect the runoff and treat it before it is drained. UMMS also has a Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan (SPCCP), which is currently being updated.
