A brief description of the sustainable operations and maintenance policy/program and/or O+M rating system(s) used:

Tufts has a temperature policy that details the temperature setpoints during occupied hours and unoccupied hours. It can be found on the Tufts Office of Sustainability website: https://sustainability.tufts.edu/wp-content/uploads/Temperature-Control-Policy-webversion-for-printing2.pdf

All University buildings, on all of Tufts' campuses, should follow the program, however we have little control over the operations of the smaller wood framed buildings that are not tied into our building automation system (BAS). These buildings would have standalone thermostats and are not monitored remotely. Some are equipped with programable thermostats, but can also be overridden very easily. All of our larger buildings are controlled via the BAS, which we have programmed temperature control and allow a very minimal local user control variant.

We also implement a load shedding program built into our BAS program. This allows us, through the BAS, to adjust the system during a high energy utilization day (peak heat days during summer), and lower our energy consumption for our electrical and gas providers. This would adjust our chilled water loop to a couple degrees warmer and adjust building temperature set-point to increase by a few degrees as well. Again, this program is only for buildings controlled and monitored by our BAS platform.

Additional documentation to support the submission:
---

We did not take the time to remove the wood frame houses from the square footage total, since technically the temperature policy applies to these houses even though they are not connected to the building automation system.
