A brief description of the central sustainability website (optional):
The sustainability website was created to serve as a resource hub for prospective students, current students, faculty, and staff. The website is broken down into pages that dive deeper into our priority topics (i.e waste management, community engagement, transportation, and health and wellness). There two other separate sections for current students and faculty and staff. In those sections the information and resources provided are specific to that group. In our website we also highlight campus community members and their work towards a more sustainable campus and world. As we complete our STARS report and create a new action plan for sustainability at Trinity, we will share the data that we gather and publicly track our progress.

Social Media Platforms

Green Campus has a facebook and instagram page and the Trinity Recreation and Environmental Education House has a facebook page. In addition, in 2017, several students created the Sustainability at Trinity College Facebook page, that is designed to consolidate information for students in a singular platform where information about sustainability can be shared and discussed by the community.

Trinity College highlights that all of its crescent townhouses are LEED Platinum certified. In addition, the dining services publish their Bistro's 3 Star Green Restaurant certification.

In each of our dining halls there are signs that describe not only the sustainability of the food on our campus, but discuss various components of sustainability in the food industry. They work to educate students via handouts and signage around our dining facilities.

Sustainable Walking Map or Tour

Trinity College's energy manager schedules energy tours of the campus several times each semester. In the past the tours had only been offered to specific science and engineering courses. Now, with the help of our sustainability coordinators the tours have been offered to the entire campus community.

Our website provides a break down of all the alternative transportation options available to students, faculty, and staff. We also include a link to a live map that tracks the locations of the bus lines that pass by our institution. The map was created by the Trinity College Center for Hartford Engagement and Research to help everyone have a smoother ride.

Trinity College has a transportation website where they publish information about local transportation that people without cars can use to get around campus and Hartford. In addition, there is a preorientation program designed to teaching students about biking in Hartford and the resources for that can be accessed by asking Joe Barber who runs the program as well as Professor Evelein who leads a first year seminar on biking and sustainability in Harford.

A brief description of the guide for green living and incorporating sustainability into the residential experience:
The sustainability page on the Trinity College website is designed to be a resource for students to not only learn about ways in which the institution is sustainable, but about how students can be sustainable themselves. Various guides to living sustainability are broken into categories such as energy, food, and transportation. We have have also updated the student move-in guide/packing list to be inclusive of sustainable living values in our campus.

A brief description of these materials or publications:
students are provided with a composting guide, recycling guide and sustainable move-in guide. We also also host events that encourage students to reduce their waste through clothing swaps, office supply swaps and book exchanges. Our goal is to create an environment where students, faculty, and staff are thinking about living a sustainable lifestyle every day.
