Wellness Works at Transylvania started in 2006 and was designed to enhance wellness and the quality of life for faculty and staff. The program covers all areas of wellness: physical, emotional, intellectual, financial, social and occupational. We use various strategies and programs to encourage individuals to make healthy living decisions in a supportive organizational environment. Programs we have offered are on-site weight loss/management, physical fitness, group fitness, personal training, WellRewards activity tracker program, reading groups, healthy cooking demos, smoking cessation, stress management, financial workshops and more. Our annual health and Wellness fair has over 50 vendors and is well attended by faculty and staff. In 2013 we launched a disease management program to help employees manage chronic illness.
