A brief description of steps the institution has taken to ensure that the purchasing policy, directives, or guidelines are followed:
We do not have an official policy posted toward EPEAT in part because we purchase Dell desktops and laptops through our AIKCU contract and Dell has a high commitment to EPEAT: http://www.dell.com/content/topics/topic.aspx/global/products/optix/topics/en/optix_energy?c=us&l=en Our standard desktop and laptop models for the last two years have met EPEAT gold standards. Also, we have seen an increase in the number of requests for Apple computers for faculty in the last couple of years, and while Apple has recently been in the news for removing their products from the EPEAT list, the laptop models that we have meet gold, though the desktop models are not listed at all.
