The University’s recently approved Strategic Plan has four key goals: Embrace Innovative Thinking; Develop the Whole Person; Promote Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility; and Enhance Campus Infrastructure Sustainably. One of the key strategies under the third goal, Promote Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility, specifically incorporates sustainability as a tenant of social responsibility. Additionally, sustainability is integrated throughout the fourth goal, Enhance Campus Infrastructure Sustainably, by including the following commitments:
• Construct all new buildings to a LEED silver standard (at a minimum)
• Conduct all major renovations to a LEED silver standard (at a minimum)
• Fully implement the climate action plant, which is currently being drafted
• Serve as a model of sustainable land management.
