A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation:
In Tranyslvania's newly developed orientation period, August term, presentations to students on sustainability, diversity, and respect are featured prominently. Sustainability-related events (e.g., walks to the farmer's market, a introduction to Lexington's bus system, bike trips to a local park) and community service projects are also included as optional activities for students. Additionally, many faculty integrate sustainability into the first-year seminar they teach during August term.
