Towson University provides both free on- and off-campus shuttle service when classes are in session. The university also offers Paratransit, Safe Ride, and charter bus services. On-campus shuttles run only during the fall and spring semester. Off-campus shuttles operate during the fall and spring semester and on an abbreviated schedule over winter, spring, and summer breaks. Shuttle routes and nearby MTA bus stops can be found on TUTigerRide. Students can purchase a discounted Mass Transit pass. Towson University regular status faculty and staff receive free ridership benefits for MTA buses, the Light Rail, Metro Subway, as well as commuter bus service lines 120, 150, and 160 in the Baltimore Region.

Towson faculty, staff, and students who meet eligibility requirements are also able to take advantage of Baltimore County's Countyride program which provides specialized transportation services to seniors, persons with disabilities, and rural residents.

No

Does the institution have a car sharing or carpool program?:
Yes

Description of the institution’s car sharing or carpool program:

Towson University offers a carpooling program where two to four people who are driving to and from campus at the same time in a single vehicle are allowed to associate a single parking permit with multiple vehicles (3 per carpool member) thereby reducing the cost of the permit per person. Carpoolers are given four daily free parking codes per semester for when they need to drive a separate vehicle to campus and are enrolled in the Guaranteed Ride Home Program. Carpoolers must be employed or registered for classes as a student at Towson University.  Schedules must be compatible (at least 75% of the time) when they are on the main campus.

Towson University also offers an Alternative Transportation Program where participants do not purchase a parking permit and pledge to either walk, bike, carpool, or use the MTA or TU Shuttle to get to and from campus. Approved members automatically receive 4 free parking codes each semester than can be used whenever you need to bring a vehicle to campus, and the Guaranteed Ride Home service, a subsidized car or taxi service that can be used up to four times per calendar year when you need to leave campus unexpectedly.
