Total percentage of students (graduate and undergraduate) that use more sustainable commuting options as their primary means of transportation:
96
A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:
In 2017, students and employees were invited to participate in a transportation survey facilitated by Transform Labs in collaboration with StudentMoveTO which gathered information about commuting choices and preferences. In addition to providing a more comprehensive understanding of Ryerson's transportation patterns, preferences and carbon emissions, the information is used for campus planning and design efforts related to supporting the goals of Ryerson’s Master Plan (e.g. increased pedestrianization). It was a representative sample because all Ryerson students and employees had equal chances of participating in the survey.
