The various research descriptions have been filtered based on their description on expertise presented in the Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation. This was done using an excluding process and a list of keywords listed below. Keywords were chosen based on sustainability focused and related disciplines and topics: - aboriginal - carbon - climate - conservation - social responsibility - diversity - ecolog (in order to detect “ecology”, “ecological”) - ecosystem - eco-system - energ (in order to detect “energy”, “energies”) - environment (in order to detect “environment”, “environmental”, “environmentally”) - equality - equit (in order to detect “equity”, “equitable”) - global - indigen (in order to detect “indigenous”, “indigene”) - intergenerational - inter-generational - pollut (in order to detect “pollution”, “polluting”) - resource - scarce - scarcity - sustainab (in order to detect “sustainable”, “sustainability”) - system thinking - systems thinking - triple bottom line - technology and innovation - urban agriculture - waste - water When an expertise description did not include a single keyword from the list, the researcher's work was considered not to be related to sustainability and was not further reviewed. However, in the cases that the course’s title and description included one keyword or more from the list specified below, a review of the course description was done in order to avoid any False Positive results. Only accurate positive results were inputted into the course inventory.
