A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting:

These results (from a 2012 research project called TRU Marketing and Communication Research Project) are from a survey titled TRU Environmental Sustainability Survey, which was conducted by a research consultant in late April 2012 during ten days. The purpose of the survey was to find out what TRU students, faculty and staff thought about environmental sustainability at TRU. The results are broken down into student responses (275) and faculty and staff responses (73). Faculty/Staff survey responses shown are based on the answers to the question: What is your main form of transportation to get to and from school? The results analysis includes answers from all respondents who took the survey. The consultant was responsible for soliciting all respondents, which happened inside two TRU buildings, Old Main and the Brown Family House of Learning. Respondents were randomly selected by asking anyone who walked by if they would mind filling in a 6 minute survey about environmental sustainability at TRU. Surveys were completed online using three laptops which were set up onsite at the two mentioned buildings. As an incentive for finishing the survey, respondents could enter their name on a ballot to win a $100 gift certificate to a local health food store. There were 30 questions in the survey.
