TRU Environment and sustainability has had numerous community sustainability partnerships since its creation. Jim Gudjonson, Energy Manager serves on the City’s technical advisory committee for their Air Shed Management plan. The City of Kamloops in turn has a member on TRU’s Transportation Demand Management Study committee.

The nearby Guerin Creek was cleaned up in cooperation with Adventure Tourism and the Rotary Club as part of World Rivers Day. TRU Environment and Sustainability has sponsored conference speakers, and provided volunteers with BC Sustainable Energy Association conferences. Finally TRU Environment and Sustainability has just signed an MOU with Fortis and the City of Winnipeg to examine district heating in part of the City of Kamloops.
