A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:
TRU’s Wellness Centre offers a number of different programs and workshops, including impaired Olympics events, diversity awareness, First Nations and aboriginal healing and nutrition programs, among others.
TRU’s new Global Competency certificate is meant to increase and recognize the cultural competency of students by offering a non-credit on transcript recognition that students can earn. Students earn this recognition through international and inter-cultural experiences. Examples include taking 12 credits of a language, taking courses with a significant cultural component, study abroad and international field schools, and through volunteer experience with cultural and International groups in Canada or Abroad.

TRU’s International Student Activities Program is available to International and Canadian students and offers students an opportunity to take part in activities alongside students from a diverse cultural background.
