A brief description of the institution's indoor air quality plan, policy, and/or practices:
Indoor Air Quality at TRU is maintained to all provincial standards. In addition, buildings that were built recently are created and maintained to ASHRAE standard 62-2001 standards. Air quality is monitored by CO and CO2 sensors that are connected to the HVAC system that circulates additional air depending on these levels, and by extension the number of people occupying a room. This ensures that levels remain safe and energy consumption remains low. TRU’s campus features remote alarm systems for air supply and exhaust systems. Problems and complaints for air quality can be directed to facilities. TRU also attempts to maintain a scent-reduced environment to protect those with sensitivities and smoking is not permitted within 25 feet of building entrances, windows or air intakes.
