Description of the open access journal hosting services:
The UNM Digital Repository is the hosting site for 25 open-access peer-reviewed journals. For a full listing, see: https://digitalrepository.unm.edu/peer_review_list.html
The journals are hosted via platform by BePress. There are several features that are included in the platform, including workflow support and a double-blind peer review process, readership analytics, and support for all content types, including datasets and multi-media.
The UNM Libraries provide the platform and connect journal editors directly to BePress for using many of the complex features of the software. The editors do the submission, review, and publishing process for the journal. There are a variety of journals in the UNM Digital Repository, some of which use all the publishing features (submissions, reviews) and others that are more archival, in that the platform only publishes a completed pdf version of the journal.
The UNM Libraries sign an MOU with those who are hosting journals in their system, which clarifies the types of support the library provides and expectations of the journal editors.
