Annotated list or inventory of the institution’s sustainability course offerings by department:
Description of the process used to identify the institution’s sustainability course offerings by department:

Sustainability courses at UNM were identified by an analysis of all available course listings in the most recent (2024-25) Academic Catalog. The catalog is organized alphabetically by course subject code, so we first assigned all subject codes to their respective departments (note that numerous departments oversee various subject codes). "Sustainability-focused" and "sustainability-inclusive" courses were identified by matching keywords in the course title or course description to "AASHE's Suggested Keywords for Sustainability Course and Research Inventories." Sustainability courses identified in the academic catalog were then cross-checked with the UNM Schedule of Classes to ensure that they had been offered to students in the past two calendar years (spring 2023 - fall 2024).

Exclusions: We did not include departments that exclusively offer practice-oriented courses and clinical practice (such as Theater & Dance and Music in the College of Fine Arts, and Anesthesiology & Critical Care Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and other departments in the School of Medicine). Additionally, the programs offered under Graduate Interdisciplinary Studies (Global & National Security, Nanoscience & Microsystems Engineering, Optical Science & Engineering, and Water Resources), each of which is a collaborative effort among faculty from different colleges and departments, were not included as standalone departments in AC1.1. Sustainability-related courses from the various Graduate Interdisciplinary Studies programs are indicated in AC1.2, however.

UNM's sustainability course listings are posted on the Office of Sustainability's Academics webpage. Moving forward, Office of Sustainability staff will review and update the listing with each subsequent STARS submission.
