The Finance and Investment Committee is a fiduciary oversight arm of the Board of Trustees. Its oversight responsibility includes analyzing and monitoring, and then reporting to the Board, on the financial, investment, business and administrative management of the University, the Wexner Medical Center and their affiliated entities (collectively, the “University”). The group meets quarterly, advises CIO and reviews investments.

During these quarterly meetings, affordability & access for students of all socio-economic backgrounds is incorporated into the regular agenda (see meeeting minutes in additional notes). The Finance & Investment committee reports on goals related to the administration of funds in corespondence with the university's strategic pilar of access, affoardability, and excellence (strategic goals in additional notes).

Since FY15, Under the guidance of the Finanace and Investment Committee, Ohio State has committed more than $200 million in additional need-based aid for Ohio students, with funding provided through efficiencies and new resource generation. Programs include the Buckeye Opportunity Program, President's Affordability Grants and the Land Grant Opportunity Scholarships.
