A brief description of the institution’s green event certification program:
The Sustainability office offers a zero-waste service that can be rented out for events. There is an application process that is required in order to receive the package, which contains waste containers, liners and signage for the event. A series of guides to help plan the event and reduce waste are also available, along with a checklist to keep the time line in place. Clients are encouraged to utilize items with minimal packaging, use reusable and durable items, utilize compostable or recycled materials, and get a caterer who specializes in zero-waste events.
