A brief description of the institution’s green athletics program:
At The Ohio State University, all football games held in the Ohio Stadium are Zero Waste Events, meaning 90% or more of the waste is diverted from the landfill by recycling, re-purposing and composting. In addition to this, the Jerome Schottenstein Center is a LEED certified building that is also capable of holding Zero Waste Events. The university uses these programs to educate and engage students and the community, and offers a Zero Waste service so organizations and community members can make their event Zero Waste. Ohio State athletic teams are certified under the NCAA.
