Does the institution host a food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource focused on alleviating food insecurity, hunger and poverty among students?:
Yes

A brief description of the food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource:

Buckeye Food Alliance (BFA) is a non-profit organization that aims to reduce the impacts of food insecurity on college students at Ohio State through direct food support, education, and connection to additional resources. BFA opened the doors to its first pantry location in March of 2016 when two students acted to make a change after reading an Ohio State study that indicated 15% of undergraduate students at Ohio State were experiencing very low food security. Since the inception of the organization, BFA has had a vision that “No Buckeye Goes Hungry” and has worked diligently to raise funds and create partnerships to ensure that there is plenty of food to stock the shelves, refrigerator, and freezer. BFA is a client choice pantry, meaning that students are able to directly choose what items that they are most in need of from our inventory and receive those products. BFA works hard to provide students with many options including fresh produce, fresh meats, milk, eggs, dietarily inclusive items, shelf stable snacks and stables, as well as personal care items. This resource is open to all students attending Ohio State. BFA has rapidly expanded the number of students served, programmatic offerings, and network of key stakeholders.
