A brief description of the institution’s LGBTQ-inclusive policies, programs and practices:
The Ohio State University has a wide variety of programs and initiatives to make the campus environment LGBTQ-inclusive. The Multicultural Center provides support and advocates for the academic and social needs of members of the LGBTQ community. For example, they put on events for student support, leadership development and educational programs centered around LGBTQ students. Ohio State also has about 16 student organizations that are LGBTQ based and range from academic to support groups.
The Campus Pride Index features LGBTQ student opportunities by highlighting the positive work within higher education across the country. Prospective students and families can choose the best LGBTQ campuses by searching based on area of study, cost, location, type of campus and LGBTQ-inclusive policy, programs and practices. Ohio State University consistently scores 5/5 Stars on the Campus Pride Index, and is one of the most welcoming and inclusive institutions of higher education in the United States.
