A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):

During the summer of 2017 Student Life implemented an information campaign directed at students participating in Orientation. The campaign name was “Ohio State Recycles”. Its purpose was to emphasize to incoming students that we do recycle at the university, and to introduce them to our goal of becoming a Zero Waste campus by the year 2025. The campaign included printed flyers, which were posted on all the floors of the residence hall where Orientation students stay overnight. The campaign also included messaging on Student Life Energy Management & Sustainability website, on the video screens at the student union, and through social media posts on Facebook and Twitter. The recycling message was reinforced by printing it on the coffee sleeves that were available to parents and students during the first day of Orientation. The message on the sleeve was “recycle this sleeve, trash the cup and lid”.
