Bio-Environmental Design Team To establish an active, student driven, hands on design-build project for Biological and Environmental Engineering Students at The Ohio State University.
Bringing Environmental Awareness to Students To introduce college students to being more environmentally aware and to provide service opportunities that betters the environment.
Buckeye Shale Energy Organization The oil and natural gas industry in Ohio is rapidly expanding into shale reservoirs. The Buckeye Shale Energy Organization will work towards becoming a leading association in this field. Efforts will be made to complete the following goals: a.) Educate interested students on the various and extensive topics associated with the relatively new industry. b.) Assist in networking opportunities between employers and hard working students interested in their field. c.) Support professors, companies, researchers, etc. in projects/events affiliated with the BSEO’s concentrations. d.) Unite students and/ or professionals who are interested in energy exploration in Ohio. The BSEO will not seclude its interests to one specific sector of the shale industry, but will be open to exploring all facets of the trade. Topics of interest may include, but are not restricted to, subsurface shale reservoir research, drilling, hydraulic fracturing processes, deep injection disposal wells (and consequences), brine water treatment, midstream refining processes, industry-related design and construction, and new sub-industries connected to the shale play; such as production of steel or sand used in the drilling process.
Center for Energy, Agriculture, Renewable Technology, and Health The mission of the EARTH Center is to provide a center for scientific research, design, demonstration and deployment of vital projects that enable humanity to confront the most profound global challenges of the 21st century including climate change, food insecurity, and extreme poverty. The EARTH Center aims for the advancement of scientifically-proven sustainable solutions to global challenges as well as the development of economic policy and global decision making that promotes the equitable implementation of such solutions.
Commuter Cyclists of The Ohio State University The OSU Commuter Cycling Organization is committed to 1) creating a culture and a built environment such that OSU students, faculty, and staff are actively encouraged to ride their bicycle to campus and 2) that OSU students, faculty, and staff are informed of how to bike to and around campus safely.
EcoCAR Challenge Team at the Ohio State University The EcoCAR Team at the Ohio State University is a group of undergraduate and graduate students who convert a Chevrolet Malibu (Donated by GM) into a vehicle with higher fuel economy and lower emissions, while maintaining performance and consumer acceptability. We compete with 16 other universities throughout North America in an annual EcoCAR Challenge competition. This competition evaluates vehicle design in a variety of dynamic and static events over the course of 3 years of the automotive design process.
Ecological Engineering Society Ecological Engineering Society Mission Statement: To educate ourselves and others about ecological engineering and the potential for ecological engineering, to develop our potential as ecological engineers, to develop ecological engineering as a course of study at OSU and as an area of science in the broader community, and to influence local and global sustainability. By implementing our mission statement we will: Educate: -Apply what we have learned by designing, constructing, and managing EcoE projects -Educate ourselves, our non-EcoE community, and our colleagues in all disciplines about EcoE Exchange ideas: -Promote ecological engineering -Participate in the broader EcoE community -Provide a central location for EcoE information -Provide a forum for the discussion and promotion of the field of EcoE Provide professional development opportunities: -Explore career opportunities for ourselves by bringing in practitioners -Network with the EcoE community (ourselves, local practitioners, and the global community) -Explore present and future career opportunities -Make research presentations to further our career ambitions Develop the EcoE curriculum and presence at OSU and elsewhere: -Support the EcoE or potential EcoE community -Facilitate communication among ecoengineers -Establish ethical guidelines and professional standards -Create and compile course evaluations from other students -Make suggestions on the EcoE curriculum Increase sustainability wherever possible: -Play an active role in bringing EcoE to the discussion, wherever that discussion takes place -Support community, regional and worldwide sustainability initiatives

OSU Net Impact Net Impact brings together leaders with a passion for creating solutions to a wide range of Environmental and Social issues. Through Networking across academic and professional disciplines, Net Impact OSU strives to Educate, promote Curriculum Change, foster Discussion, and actively engage in Social Change Projects targeting our local community and beyond.
Parks and Recreation Society We are students interested in outdoor adventure, environmental education, park rangers, search and rescue, park administration, community recreation, tourism planning and development and all things related to parks, recreation and tourism careers. We invite guest speakers to meet with us and share their expertise in the field. We go on outings to meet professionals at work and learn about what they do and how to do it. We participate in mentoring workshops, attend conferences and gain special skills necessary to this career field. We also volunteer to give back to the community.
Repower America The purpose of the Repower America student group is to raise Ohio State student awareness of climate and clean energy issues through activism and event outreach, while providing networking opportunities with industry professionals.
Roots & Shoots Roots & Shoots is an organization whose purpose is to bring about positive community-oriented change through innovative projects led by its members. By focusing on habitat restoration, cleanups, pollution, and recycling, the organization aims to make the world a better place and foster an appreciation of nature, including all living things and the environment.
Solar Education & Outreach we strive to educate ourselves, our fellow students, and the University in general about Solar energy and other green technology and initiatives emerging in the world.
Students for a Sustainable Campus Students for a Sustainable Campus (SSC) actively works with students, faculty, and staff at The Ohio State University in pursuit of ecological awareness and change. SSC leads a variety of initiatives to address issues related to energy, the environment, and public health.
Students for Recycling It shall be the purpose of Students for Recycling to build a coalition of student organizations to promote recycling, to raise awareness about recycling on campus, to raise money to assist the already established Ohio State Recycling Program, and to provide education on the impact of waste disposal.

The Society of Environmental Engineers The Society of Environmental Engineers is a professional organization committed to bringing together students with a common interest in Environmental Engineering, providing them with networking opportunities, and opportunities to engage in the community while serving the environment. It is an umbrella organization that houses three former student organizations, the American Academy of Environmental Engineers, the Water Environment Federation, as well as the American Water Works Association.

The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon challenges collegiate teams to design, build, and operate solar-powered houses that are cost-effective, energy-efficient, and attractive. The winner of the competition is the team that best blends affordability, consumer appeal, and design excellence with optimal energy production and maximum efficiency. Ohio State's 2011 entry, enCore House, placed 5th.
