A brief description of the sustainability trainings and professional development opportunities available to staff :
The Ohio State University offers many personal and professional development opportunities to its staff. Ohio State sees sustainability holistically and understands the value of a healthy environment and workplace. Development opportunities range from personal health incentives to free tuition for classes at the university. These activities not only build a more sustainable campus but also provide sustainability education opportunities to employees through the periodic integration of sustainability lessons.

Each year, the office of human resources (Newark Campus) develops a professional development calendar that provides workshops on a variety of topics. Workshops have been conducted on diversity, ergonomics, sexual harassment, leadership, performance coaching, Civility in the Workplace, human trafficking and modern-day slavery: practical tools for an effective response, change management, raising healthy kids in an overweight world, understanding Alzheimer’s disease and related Dementia, retirement planning, financial workshops, etc.
