Moccasins Club: Advisor Mike Lohre at lohre.1@osu.edu. This a sustainability club for students who are interested in taking care of the environment.

The OSU Marion Rotaract Club helped the Marion City Schools weed and restore approximately 30 raised bed gardens at each of the five elementary schools. The gardens had been neglected and needed to be restored for future use. OSU Marion students who were members of the Rotaract Club weeded them, planted mums, and spread leaf mulch on the gardens in an effort to make them usable again. In the future, the club has offered to work with each of the elementary schools to develop curriculum around gardening and production of local foods.

OSU-Marion partners with Marion Technical College to host annual Earth Day programming. The Ohio State University-Marion and Marion Technical College are hosting Earth Day activities including tree planting, litter cleanup, and recycling.

The Ohio State University chose "The Other Wes Moore" by Wes Moore as their Common Book for 2016. All incoming freshmen on all Ohio State campuses read the same book over summer 2016, as part of the First Year Experience and to create a sense of unity and mutual learning among Ohio State entities statewide. The 2015 book was "The Good Food Revolution" by Will Allen.

Science Cafés involve a lively conversation with a scientist about current science topics. They are open to everyone and take place in casual settings like pubs and coffeehouses. Students can join us at a Science Cafe to learn about the latest issues in science, meet new friends, speak their minds, and chat with a scientist about their research interests.
