Dr. Anna Willow (Anthropology) conducts research on the cultural impacts of natural resource extraction and fracking in the US, conservation efforts and forest clear-cutting on Native American lands in Canada, and environmental activism. Dr. Joel Barker (Earth Sciences) conducts research on black carbon deposition, snow and glacier melting, and carbon and nitrogen biogeochemical cycling in urban wetlands. Dr. Sara Crosby (English) conducts research on cultural, human, and literary impacts of wetland and bayou destruction and loss in Louisiana. Dr. Susan Gershman (Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology) is co-advising a graduate student who is studying ecotoxicology, specifically how cadmium affects reproductive behavior in crickets.
