A brief description of the program or practice:
Many landscape beds and open areas on campus use prairie plants for landscape purposes. The plants are native to this region. Also, there is a prairie nature center on six acres of the Marion campus that serves as a teaching lab for campus students and community schools. The prairie is burned every two to three years to maintain the area and help new plant growth.
